Baltasar Kormákur directs this Icelandic drama starring Egill Olafsson. Set in the 1960s, Icelandic Kristófer (Pálmi Kormákur) is studying at the London School of Economics. Losing passion for his chosen career path, Kristófer makes an impulsive decision to leave school and takes a job as a dishwasher at a Japanese restaurant. When he meets the owner's daughter Miko (Kôki), he realises he made the right decision and their immediate bond grows into a relationship. When he suddenly finds the restaurant closed and Miko and her father gone, Kristófer is distraught and confused but with no way of contacting them. Years later, Kristófer (Olafsson)'s health is in decline and so he decides to try to find Miko to find out what truly happened all those years ago. The cast also includes Masahiro Motoki, Yôko Narahashi and Ruth Sheen.
