American horror set in 1983 in which a couple living in an isolated cabin in the woods have their harmonious life torn apart by a dangerous cult. When Mandy (Andrea Riseborough) - fascinated by fantasy fiction and the occult - captures the attention of a cult leader, he devises a plan to take her as his own. In the dead of night, Mandy is abducted by a terrifying band of demons who take her to their unhinged leader, Jeremiah Sand (Linus Roache). Mandy's partner Red (Nicolas Cage) immediately goes out for revenge, wielding a chainsaw and an arsenal of fierce weapons to free her from the clutches of evil and slaughter anyone who gets in his way.
