Zol Zayn Shulem - May There Be Peace! - is Daniel Zylbersztajn-Lewandowski's attempt to recreate
and rethink the history of his maternal and paternal family before and during the Holocaust. The first part, "Zores," dealt with the individual fates. In this second part, "Faroys," the author takes an autobiographical look at his upbringing and life among Holocaust
survivors and non-Jewish Germans, as well as his later experiences in Great Britain. He openly addresses
personal challenges in the shadow of the Shoah. Again and again, questions of belonging and exclusion arise,
and often unexpected antisemitism and racism. Yet he refuses to give up hope for better times.
Daniel Zylbersztajn-Lewandowski is the Great Britain Correspondent of Germany's newspaper taz.
