As a lawyer and as a biker, I'm pretty use to getting what I want. I generally keep the two worlds separate but if any of my biker buddies and their families need legal help, I'm the guy they contact.

As far as women go, I'm not one for commitment so I keep thing pretty casual with the women I date. This has been my adult life and I'm pretty happy with it. I do better with clear boundaries in my life. I've been accused of being a control freak from time to time and I can't really argue with that assessment. There are few thing in life I love more than my bike.

But then I met Cara. She was new in town and we'd shared some drinks at the bar one night. I've dated my share of beautiful woman but there was something about Cara that drew me to her. I couldn't put my finger on it.

Anyway, we hooked up a few times but then I stopped seeing her around the bar. I got the shock of my life, five months later when I ran into her at the grocery store. She looked as a lovely as the last time I saw her but it was impossible to miss she was pregnant.

I was running late for court so we didn't visit for long. That night as I was falling asleep, I struggled to be happy for her--obviously that she had met a guy and settled down.

Later that night I sat up in bed, suddenly wide awake. I counted the months back. I counted again. And again. It couldn't be. But now I was sure why she hadn't said much when I saw her yesterday. She'd neglected one important detail I was now willing to bet my life on---I was the father of her baby.

When I confronted Cara, I wasn't sure what angered me more---that she didn't expect anything from me or that I wasn't planning on being involved. But life in a small town is never as simple as it sounds. As I see Cara's growing belly around town, I'm shocked at how protective I feel of this new life growing inside her. Coming from someone who avoid personal entanglements, I'm suddenly finding myself enraptured with Cara and my growing family.

Do I dare break out of all the walls I've built up to protect myself to take a chance on love?
