Book Summary - When the Moon Loved the Sun
By Emmanuel Innocent
Malachi has always believed that true love should be absolute. To him, loving someone means choosing them completely-without hesitation, without distance, and without the possibility of goodbye.
Then he falls in love with Amara.
Beautiful, intelligent, fiercely independent, and guarded by wounds of her own, Amara loves Malachi deeply. But she recognizes something inside his devotion that he cannot yet see: beneath his passion lives a desperate fear of abandonment. Malachi doesn't simply want to be loved by Amara. He wants to become so essential to her that leaving him becomes impossible.
When Amara finally tells him that she loves him and dreams of becoming his wife, Malachi believes he has found the forever he has always wanted.
By morning, she is gone.
Amara leaves behind a letter explaining that she needs to discover whether their relationship can become love without possession. She challenges Malachi to discover who he is when she isn't there to define him.
But their separation awakens something much older than either of them.
Malachi begins experiencing impossible dreams of another existence-one in which he was Lunaris, the Moon, an immortal celestial being who loved Solara, the Sun, with an obsession powerful enough to shake creation itself.
Amara begins remembering too.
Before humanity measured days, before death gave life urgency, and before the heavens knew separation, Solara and Lunaris shared the sky. Their love was legendary-but imperfect. When Time was created to bring order, seasons, change, mortality, and consequence to existence, the Sun and Moon were forced apart.
Lunaris refused to accept it.
Believing that nothing should separate him from the woman he worshipped, he challenged Time itself. His devotion gradually became possession, and his attempt to reclaim Solara nearly destroyed the world they had helped create.
Only after losing everything did Lunaris begin to understand the terrible truth:
Loving someone completely does not mean possessing them completely.
