When Sessions End

This book is intended for a therapist or parent of a child in therapy to read to a client to promote a healthy understanding of therapy sessions coming to an end. It is designed to encourage the celebration of the development of the child client as they have worked to learn new skills and tools through a therapeutic process.

In this book, you will find that certain words are highlighted intentionally to encourage the reader to personalize this story and bring meaning to the therapeutic journey of their specific client and/or child.

In addition, this book aims to provide an example and understanding for the caregiver of ideal therapeutic endings while also highlighting the importance of reflection and celebration of the work done in therapy that continues even through the closing sessions.

Ideally, this book will be read to a client leading up to and/or in a planned closing session. However, this book is also a helpful resource to read impromptu when unexpected termination of services or endings come, to promote closure to the therapeutic journey for all.
