The view of work has evolved, and two concepts remain relevant today: employee alienation and self-fulfilment through work. The aim of this theoretical framework is to raise the reader's awareness of the emergence of a new form of suffering in the world of work: psychosocial risks. Despite warnings from psychologists and health experts, awareness among the state, public bodies and businesses has been slow to materialise for some, and non-existent for others.
