A major in the United States Air Force finds herself in Afghanistan, responsible for the safe transport of wounded warriors and the medical troops who care for them. Propelled into combat, she's forced to rapidly adjust her methods of leadership - driven by the desire to protect her troops - and confronted with the decision of which rules to follow and which to bend.
The order and discipline she thrived under was now threatened with chaos as she battled against the warring instincts of fight and compassion, forcing her to make choices she couldn't have prepared for.
