Ways to Peace

"Ways to Peace" presents a landmark collection of twenty plans submitted for the American Peace Award, a prestigious competition established by Edward W. Bok in the aftermath of World War I. At a time when the world was reeling from the devastation of global conflict, this volume captures the collective intellectual effort of citizens and thinkers striving to define the United States' role in maintaining international stability.

The plans included within these pages offer diverse perspectives on diplomacy, international cooperation, and the institutional frameworks necessary to prevent future wars. From discussions on the League of Nations to innovative proposals for international law and arbitration, the work serves as a significant historical record of early 20th-century peace activism. It provides readers with a deep look into the geopolitical aspirations and the idealistic fervor that characterized the interwar period.

This collection is an essential resource for students of political science, history, and international relations, offering timeless insights into the challenges and complexities of achieving a lasting global peace.
