Scar and Bentley sort of became ghosts together.
It happened when they were skiing.
The long-time ski buddies boldly ventured from Michigan to Colorado.
They delighted in the speed and challenges of real mountainside ski runs.
Maybe they became overconfident.
A burst of speed and a wrong turn put them in the path of an avalanche.
Mountains of snow engulfed them. Next morning they woke up as ghosts.
They didn't feel dead! Scar objected:
--- "How can we be dead? I feel alive. Bentley's walking around and talking to me. He's slightly translucent but otherwise he's the same old Bentley."
A savvy older ghost mentors them, teaching the abilities of ghosts and the ways of the ghost community.
"Becoming a ghost is a huge learning experience!" Scar declares.
