Discourse on annotation typically focuses on print materials (mechanically and electronically created), revealing a gap in knowledge regarding how we work with time-based materials. This study is distinctive because it is the first book to focus on video annotation as a manual method of analysis, indexation, and publication. It is also the first work to centre on video annotation for performance scholarship.
