A diagram titled VALID ROUTES appears in a London magazine. It resembles a transport map but includes no legend, no locations, and no explanation beyond a single instruction: All information required is contained in the diagram.
Julian, a transit data analyst, studies routing discrepancies for a living. When minor inconsistencies begin to surface across access logs, personnel records, and workflow systems, he notices that the behaviour of the system follows the same directional constraints as the diagram.
A colleague's status changes from Active to Transitional to Archived. No termination notice is issued. No error is logged. The headcount remains constant.
