A difficult upbringing, an absent father, and the road to redemption.

It's safe to say that I didn't have the easiest start in life.

For starters, my father made it very clear that he never wanted me and certainly wasn't going to change his mind.

When you add that to the fact that my mother blamed me for her own shortcomings, it's easy to see why my life would be described as turbulent at best.

But is my life really going to only amount to a series of toxic relationships, constantly trying to fill the void left by my mother's difficulties and my father abandoning us?

That's why I recently turned to faith, in desperate need of some help overcoming the trauma of my past.

Will I be able to overcome everything I have gone through? Or is it already too late for me in the eyes of the Lord?

One thing is for sure. I can't keep living this hollow existence.
