After Jael Tishman's father died in a mysterious lab explosion at a US government funded facility out west, her mom's plane crashed somewhere in the Sierra Mountains while flying to the site. It has been years since their deaths but Jael finally opens up to a friend from work, Isaiah Jakub, who also suffered a great loss when his wife died in a mysterious car crash the previous year...an accident that left many unanswered questions and a six-year-old daughter to raise on his own.

As their relationship grows, everything else around them starts to crumble. Strange supernatural sightings, violent uprisings and chaos start to unravel their peaceful town of Newark, Delaware.
