The Spirit of Cornwall

As I said in the promotional blurb for my first volume of 'The Spirit of Cornwall: A Haunted Legacy', some people only know Cornwall for its golden sandy beaches; its quaint seaside fishing villages; the sun-bronzed surfers; and as the dramatic locations for popular TV series such as Wycliffe, Poldark, and Doc Martin, but there's a much more mysterious, eldritch side of Cornwall too.
In this second volume we will be investigating the western end of Cornwall, with interesting chapters on UFOs., ghosts; mermaids; knockers; piskies; spriggans; owl-men; wizards; sea monsters; buccas; menacing black hounds; ghost ships; and even some ghostly bicycles (and their riders); I hope that you will once again enjoy exploring these strange Cornish events and anomalies with me, the stories are mostly contributed by my witnesses, plus there's some old Cornish folklore, and I'll once again be going on ahead, as your supernatural tour guide, I'll still be metaphorically holding that old Cornish miner's safety lamp aloft, to light up our path across the misty Cornish hills, beaches, and along her rocky coastline.

If you are fascinated by the paranormal, and you love Cornwall, then this the book for you! The content is wide-ranging and ambitious in its scope; it's not just another collection of ghost and UFO stories randomly thrown together. I have continued to match my witnesses' experiences up to interesting background information, and known historical events, and I have also tried to show some possible links between the old Cornish folklore and modern ufology. We'll be visiting some more fascinating Cornish locations, these will include Rosewall Hill; Zennor; Falmouth; St Austell; St Agnes; Camborne; St Ives; Hayle; Porthcurno; and Carbis Bay.

We'll be visiting some more haunted pubs, a haunted public garden, and a haunted church too. I'll be telling the story of a sea-monster called Morgawr, huge owl-like creatures, and a funny story about a lonely old rector living in a creepy manse. I'll also be discussing intelligent orb lights, the possible side-effects of excessive EMF radiation, and several more colorful Cornish characters, people like Doc Shiels, the self-styled 'Wizard of the West,' and an old friend of mine, David Gillham, the founding member of the Cornwall UFO Research Group. You'll be hearing more about how the RAF (and RNAS) pursue UFOs in Cornish air space, and hear tales about a legendary sunken land off the far west of Cornwall. We'll also be discussing the superstitions of Cornish tin miners, and how Cornish folklore and customs 'emigrated' with those miners to the USA during the great Cornish diaspora. I have avoided discussing the better known Cornish mysteries and hauntings, as I wanted to explore some more obscure, lesser told Cornish supernatural accounts that you may not have heard about.
