The Shadow of the Iroquois

"The Shadow of the Iroquois" is a classic historical adventure that brings to life the perils and politics of 17th-century New France. Narrated by Blaise Lafond, a spirited French youth, the story chronicles a series of strange and terrible happenings that propel him from obscurity into the inner circle of one of history's most formidable figures: Count Frontenac, the Governor General of New France.

Set against a backdrop of shifting alliances and the vast, untamed wilderness, the work explores the intense conflict between European colonial powers and the Iroquois Confederacy. Through Blaise's eyes, readers experience the tension of frontier life, the complexities of diplomacy, and the raw courage required to survive in a territory where danger lurks in every shadow. Everett McNeil provides a detailed and atmospheric portrayal of the early Canadian frontier, blending high-stakes adventure with the grounded reality of colonial struggle.

This narrative serves as both a thrilling coming-of-age tale and a vivid window into the historical forces that shaped North America, making it a valuable work for fans of historical fiction and tales of early exploration and conflict.
