The year is 1991. Gretchen Holdrake has been working as an assistant at Shadborne Psychiatric Hospital for almost a decade. Everyone knows about the mysterious nun who's kept secluded in one of the wards, but only a few doctors are ever allowed into that part of the building.

On one fateful day, Gretchen is called into the hospital's top-secret seventh cell, where she finally meets Sister June. Or, rather, what's left of Sister June. As the horrifying truth starts to emerge, Gretchen finds herself drawn into a bizarre set of games that seem designed to destroy the incarcerated woman forever. And then, at the edge of the hospital's grounds, Gretchen encounters a bear.

John has arrived to put the last part of his plan into action. The First Order wants to torture Sister June and extract the last of her knowledge, but John is determined to save her... or, if he can't save her, then he'd rather kill her than leave her to suffer at the hands of the doctors. Can Gretchen and John save Sister June, or will the First Order move one step closer to a devastating victory that could leave the entire world on the brink of collapse?
