This book is a strategic leadership guide that breaks the old stereotype that states that leadership effectiveness reduces
beyond the age of 50. The rationale behind it is to rebrand the experienced professionals as key strategic resources in the age of complexity, uncertainty and speed of change. The essence of the present work lies in the belief that experience when used
purposefully will provide judgement, permanence and long-term view that organisations are growing more and more dependent on, as opposed to implying resistance or obsolescence. The research is divided into three combined sections. Part I provides the cornerstone resources of successful leaders that consist of judgement, networks, resilience, and legacy orientation. Part II isabout how leadership practices need to change to deal with complexity and develop others as well as stay relevant. Part III is dedicated to the actual implementation, sustainability, and planning of actions. The guide is a pragmatic and strategic input in terms of taking experience and translating it into practicable leadership models that allow leaders above 50 to maximize their impact, shape their next chapter purposefully, and generate lasting organisational and social values.
