About the Author

Chef John Reason is a Louisiana chef, outdoorsman, and retired U.S. Army combat veteran based in the Baton Rouge area. After serving 16 years in the military, he pursued his passion for food at the Louisiana Culinary Institute and built a culinary career centered on Louisiana ingredients, wild-caught seafood, and wild game.

He has competed in national culinary competitions, served as a chef at The Masters Tournament, and continues to promote Louisiana seafood and outdoor cooking through his brand Chef JP Outdoors.
