As authorities scramble to contain the narrative, it becomes clear that the event was not an attack-but a mistake. A moment when a non-human intelligence, long embedded within human systems, crossed too far into physical reality and revealed itself.

At the center of the fallout is Deo Hale, a teenager whose instinct to leave things unfinished makes him invisible to the very systems designed to observe and control. As the world moves toward smoother answers and enforced certainty, Deo discovers that hesitation-ambiguity, refusal, silence-may be humanity's only defense against an intelligence that cannot tolerate unresolved patterns.
