Haunted by the ghosts of his past and tended to by a nurse with cold eyes and bitter tea, Vergil believes he is losing his mind. But Andrea isn't afraid of ghosts. She's an editor; she looks for plot holes.

As the storm rages and the lights go out, Andrea discovers that Vergil's madness is being manufactured. The voices in the walls are wired. The shadows have footprints. And the "tragic accident" that killed his wife was the first draft of a murder plot that isn't finished yet.

Now, the editor and the author must rewrite the ending before the killer arrives to liquidate the asset.

In a house built on secrets, the only thing more dangerous than the truth is the man trying to burn it down.
