Plagued by fragmented thoughts and paranoia, he investigates his friend's occult belongings in a curios chest, uncovering blasphemous texts that whisper to his mind. The familiar people around him begin acting with sinister, knowing calm, leading him into a series of bizarre and terrifying confrontations. His world unravels completely, language dissolves into noise, loyal pets burst into swarms, and time itself slows to a crawl as he is physically subdued.

In the final, devastating moments, the last layer of his delusion is ripped away. The terrifying revelation is not about a haunting, but about his own identity. The estate, the friendship, the monster-all of it was an elaborate phantom, a projected prison for a dying mind that believed its own fiction. The true horror is the collapse of the self, revealing that the only reality was the fear itself.
