On West 81st Street in Manhattan, between a dry cleaner called Frank's and a Vietnamese restaurant called Pho Sure, there is a hotel that finds you when you need it.

The Olympia doesn't announce itself with marble lobbies or doormen in epaulettes. It announces itself with fresh flowers, a peacock named Argos, and the smell of something baking that makes people go quiet at the table.
