The diverse topics of the essays that comprise the new volume of The Mistral Review-the journal of the Gabriela Mistral Foundation, Inc.-confirm our fundamental conviction which is: that Gabriela Mistral cannot and should not be read from a single angle or identity. Her literary and humanitarian work explores fertile territories: from the diversity of her names, pseudonyms, attire, to the imprint of her written word on the Chilean landscape, on childhood, spirituality and on our collective cultural memory. The essays gathered prove that Mistral remains not only a poet who captivates through her words and lyrical poetry, but she is also a key figure in Ibero-American and universal literature. Therefore, this issue is presented to you as an invitation to read her, as she is constant in dialogue with her time and ours.
