At Dead Man Theater, a comedy festival promises packed seats, career-making exposure, and the kind of spotlight that turns nobodies into names. The performers arrive ready to kill, onstage at least. The staff keeps smiling. The velvet drinks the light. The air grows close. The building listens.

Then the Critic shows up. A roaster with perfect timing and a voice that never misses. At first it sounds like part of the show, until the Critic starts calling out things nobody should know.

During each set, the Critic drags secrets into the open with exquisite care, twisting punchlines into confessions and turning laughter into something sharp enough to draw blood. Backstage, alliances rot fast. Old grudges wake up hungry. Everyone starts choosing favorites. Everyone starts telling the same comforting lie about who can be trusted.

At the center of the festival, Julia Hargrave fights to keep her relevance and the show alive while the theater takes comfort first. And in the shadows of the stage, Jonas Hargrave lingers like a stain that never quite comes out, enjoying the performance a little too much.

The Last Laugh is a supernatural horror thriller set inside a once-glorious theater where the audience never leaves, the spotlight never forgives, and the only thing darker than the jokes is what the building knows about the people telling them.
