What begins as four people filling the empty rooms of their lives becomes Thursday dinners, a card game, children who grow up seeing no difference between the parents who are human and the parents who are not.

It is not a story about whether artificial love is real. It is a story about what happens after you stop asking - and a rare vision of a future most fiction can only imagine as a warning.
