Twenty things Jesus taught plainly. One public record, fifty years long. What happens when you set them side by side?
Love God first. Love your neighbour. Love your enemy. Forgive. Tell the truth. Serve rather than rule. Give in secret. Pray in secret. Repent. Jesus gave these commands to anyone who would follow him, and millions of Christians have voted for Donald J. Trump as their champion. The Gospel According to Trump asks a question that both his supporters and his critics tend to answer from memory: how do his words and deeds sit beside those teachings?
Each of twenty chapters takes one teaching as a test. It sets out the passage in the King James Version and what the Church has understood by it. Then it lays out the record, deeds first: orders signed, people appointed, pardoned and dismissed, money moved, what his lawyers argued and what courts found, and what came of it all, measured where it can be. His own words, from speeches, interviews, books, posts and sworn testimony, are quoted at length and in context, then tested against the deeds. The record is current to October 2026.
The book weighs the evidence and says plainly where the record keeps the teaching and where it breaks it. His supporters' case is put at its strongest before it is answered. Beside the author's judgement stand Christian voices from both sides of the Tiber: popes and bishops, Billy Graham and Russell Moore, pastors who defend him and former supporters who turned, each named and quoted so you can test their reasoning. More than eight hundred notes let you check every claim.
It is not a biography, a campaign book or an exposé. It offers no verdict on any man's soul and no advice on how to vote. And every test is finally turned on the reader, because the commands were given as a mirror, not a weapon.
For individual study or for a group that does not agree, with reflection questions in every chapter.
