After decades of planning, humanity finally fulfills their dream of settling on Mars in the year 2056.
But there's a problem. While all the brilliant minds who made it happen had the logistics solved, there is one key element they glossed over: the human element.

22-year-old Alex was looking for an escape. The Argo Space Center offers the chance of a lifetime: a seat aboard the Red Zenith, the massive vessel headed for Mars. Alex hastily accepts the invitation, believing a new life on Mars can only be an improvement-no matter the risks.
Alex encounters a few friendly people among their companions, but most of the travelers are conceited or rude, even well before takeoff. Landing on the Martian frontier brings a temporary joy to the galactic pioneers. But as the novelty of living on the butterscotch planet wears off, the new life becomes routine and mundane. Eventually, the dome Alex and the rest of the settlers live in starts to feel more like a pressure cooker, ready to explode with how fed up nearly everyone becomes with each other.
Alex and the rest of the travelers may be living on a different planet, but they have to answer an honest question: have they truly left home? Will their attempt at making life on Mars work, or will humanity's greatest feat quickly devolve into humanity's greatest and most expensive failure?
