STOP!

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems. Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose.

"STOP!" "Mom's Advice to Her Daughter About Bullying", was written as a response to an incident of bullying. The child was bullied everyday because she was different. The mother in the story is giving her daughter some simple practical advice on what to do when she encounters her bully at school. This book also gives the reader biblical scriptures that they can meditate on about bullying. It can be used as a tool for younger children to understand how to deal with the emotions they have surrounding bullying and understand how God feels about it .

Elementary schools are an environment where children continue to develop their social-friendship skills, where they are able to regulate emotions and where they are able to solve problems. This can be a challenge when children experience bullying. The younger children are educated about bullying, the earlier they will cultivate healthy relationships with other children. Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about bullying as early as kindergarten.
