Sima Xiangru

Sima Xiangru (c. 179-118 BCE), courtesy name Changqing, was one of the ""Four Great Masters of Han Fu"" and has been honored through the ages as the ""Sage of Fu"" and ""Master of Ci Poetry."" As the Tang dynasty magistrate Chen Ziliang summarized his life: ""He stirred Lady Wenjun's heart by playing the zither, and awed the Han emperor with his recitation of fu""-epitomizing a legacy built upon the legendary romance of ""Seducing Wenjun with Music"" and the literary feat of ""Astonishing Emperor Wu with Fu.""
