Shoulders

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, and a lot in between. You may ask yourself, "What to do with those ashes?" My answer, "Add Value". There are many slogans in this book, and I offer one more: Learn to Appreciate, Appreciate to Learn, Then Execute. Develop those shoulders by appreciating those you stand on, then use that to understand how to strive to provide better shoulders. You got something better to do? Life, it's in between the ashes. It's what you're here for.

This life story of resilience, triumph in the face of oppression, depression, and racism, that sheds light on the power to overcome any adversity. It is those experiences that shape us. It could be asked "What good can come from the ghetto of Philly?" Many may ask, how do you make it out the hood, with all its negative temptations? For Darrell, it was the sense of strong family ties and seizing opportunities as they became available. In this memoire of his life, he captures the defining moments of those that were truly his heroes and of those that impacted his life. It is also a walk through the history pages from the 1960's to the present and a testament that if you trust the process, you can truly live your best life possible. This is definitely a page turner.
