The war between Earth and Mars is over. Humanity has built a Republic from the ashes. But the world She created is gone, and what replaced it is rotting from within.

Earth prospers while Mars is exploited. The Republic preaches freedom while tightening its grip. The ideals that justified the war against She - human autonomy, self-determination, the right to choose - have become slogans used to justify a new kind of control. One that is less efficient, less fair, and far more cruel than anything She ever imposed.

Written from a cell in Sif Penal Station, in synchronous orbit over the North Atlantic, Clara's memoir is the story of a woman who chose treason because she believed it was the only moral option left. It is a story about fathers and daughters, about impossible love across enemy lines, about the gap between what we promise and what we deliver, and about the unbearable weight of being right when everyone else has decided you're wrong.

At its heart lies the same question her father asked - but sharper now, more urgent, stripped of all abstraction:

Is humanity capable of governing itself? Or do we need something greater than ourselves to save us from what we are?
