We wrote "Self-Help, Schmelf-Help " as a tribute to the self-help genre, while also acknowledging its often-overlooked darker and quite frankly ludicrous aspects. We fully believe in the power of self-help and the idea that it's normal to want to improve ourselves and 'fix' areas of our lives we'd like to change. However, we recognize that there are no quick fixes or magical secrets that lead to instant, effortless transformation.

From firewalking to vision boards, we'll examine the fads, the fails, and the fanatics that make the self-help world tick.
