Christmas is only a week away, and Santa has lost his hat! Not a problem, he thinks; he'll just get a new one. Unknown to him, one of the elves has hidden it, and when he is told that there is only one Santa hat, things begin to get complicated. In the meantime, what is he going to do? The elves don't recognize him without the hat, and the reindeer are being difficult, too. He decides to return to the workshop as a workshop elf, and everyone is happy to see him. He does such a good job at managing the lists, the toys, and packing that he is re-elected Santa. On Christmas Eve, the elf returns and helps him find the Santa hat. On Christmas Eve, he puts on the Santa hat, and everyone is surprised to learn that he had been Santa all along.
