Safe Haven

A mysterious woman abandons a newborn in front of a firehouse. Becca Schirmer happens to be walking by and picks up the squalling infant. Jacob Adebayo, the fireman on duty, discovers Becca and the baby when he opens the door. From that moment on, no one will believe the baby isn't hers, despite all her efforts to convince them.

What is Becca, a single woman in danger of losing her job, going to do with a newborn? How can she care for him, when she's without any friends or family close by to help? What intent could God have in allowing her to be the one to find the little guy?

As the precious baby wheedles his way into her affections and a group of people rallies around her to help, Becca grows attached to him. Soon, she can't imagine life without him, or the new friends who've come into her life.

Jacob Adebayo can't understand why a woman would abandon her baby or deny being his mother. Becca baffles him, even while bringing out a long-dormant desire for marriage and a family of his own. So, when his father implies he has a responsibility to her and the baby, he finds he doesn't really want to argue about it. The more he gets to know Becca, the more he sees her sweet, gentle nature and the more he wants to know about her.

When a stranger shows up at the annual firehouse Family Day, then demands a paternity test on the boy, both Becca and Jacob realize how much they've fallen in love with the baby - and each other. But is it too late? Is this stranger the real father, and, if so, will he demand his rights? And is this little guy the only thing holding them together?
