Red Foundations follows the first decade of Martian colonization through the eyes of those who governed it, engineered it, and now must decide whether to trust it. At the center stands Jack Masters - a man who perceives reality differently than anyone alive, who built four space elevators in eleven months, and who has never fully explained why.

When an alien artifact is discovered forty kilometers from the colony, the political tensions of the Mars Autonomy Accord suddenly carry a new weight. The systems that run the colony know something.
