Inspired by reading the short story collection To Hold the Bridge by Garth Nix, S C Cass has written four short stories in the same young adult fantasy genre.
These stories are specifically about quests or missions requiring teenagers to prove their worth in some way, and set in fantasy worlds, similar to our own but different in key ways.
The short stories in Proving Quests leave the endings open for the reader to imagine what might happen next for themselves. But S C Cass adds an appendix to each story, demonstrating how easy it is to continue open-ended stories, finding further suitable, yet still open-ended, places to finish.
