Poland Under Attack is a quantitative, policy-facing study of how a medium-sized capitalist frontline state can sustain a major defensive war without destroying its economic base. Using Poland as the primary case, the book separates what is structurally given (output mix, import dependencies, energy/logistics exposure, fiscal and labour limits) from what policy can change (controls, procurement regimes, mobilisation finance, industrial conversion, and throughput management).
It works with a fixed indicator set and three time horizons-90 days, one year, three years-so that political declarations can be translated into measurable constraints and trade-offs. Historical war-economy benchmarks are used for mechanism, while contemporary Ukraine provides the empirical reality-check: damage, fiscal stress, and bottleneck dynamics. The result is a decision framework designed to survive serious argument-precise enough for analysts, readable enough for senior officials.
