Through these reflections, Charles grapples with his identity, realizing that his place in the world is not defined by his privileged upbringing and prep school education.

Set against the backdrop of the D-Day Battlefront and interwoven with flashbacks to the home front, Charles contemplates the meaning of honor. As he investigates his familial past, turbulent present, and uncertain future, he begins to understand what it truly means to be honorable.
