Patterns, variants and change

This volume combines theoretical reflections and reevaluations of established frameworks in the field of morphology with empirical synchronic and diachronic studies. It emphasizes word formation, with a special focus on affixation, while also addressing Romance inflectional morphology, particularly verbal inflection. The collected contributions, crafted by leading experts in the field, employ diverse perspectives, methods, and theoretical approaches to investigate patterns, variants, and changes across morphosyntactic structures, morphological formations, morphemic components, and submorphemic elements in the languages Italian, Spanish, French, Ladin, German, English, Slovak, Abaza, and various regional dialects, as well as Latin, Sanskrit, and Proto-Indo-European.
