Parenting Greatness

Parenting Greatness is not a book of rules for raising children. It is a conversation, parent to parent, person to person. Together we will discover the Biblical truths about who we are and what is expected of us as God's children. The reader will be met in their humanity and understood there, yet called up to parent their children to the high mark of greatness. Identity and destiny are to be defined by God alone and parents will be encouraged in how to convey these truths to their children rightly and joyfully.

In reading this book, you will be equipped with four principles: parent in faith, have a progress towards identity mindset, always look to produce from the heart, and pray prophetically. Parenting Greatness also gives you an inside look at how humans are designed as three-part beings. Several chapters dive deep into this unique design we have in God's image, body, soul, and spirit. Because, how can we live at full capacity in alignment with God's Spirit if we don't have an understanding of how we're made and learn to operate best? This in-depth look at our Creator's blueprint of humanity answers our questions and guides us as parents to nurture and help our children to become healthy humans, through Christ.

Parenting Greatness is about taking aim at the heart of our children in order for them to want to be great in God's Kingdom. This is counter-intuitive to the culture and even our own humanity in many ways, since 'greatness' to God means 'servant of all.' This book asks the question, how great do we really want our children to be and to what extent are we willing to call them to that greatness? But don't think that this book is going to give you a bunch of religious rules to hold that standard. On the contrary, we are called to one way of living - relationally with our Father through the blood of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. No check boxing here. This book is all about the heart.

Every chapter is loaded with quotes from all different types of people in all walks of life, meant to inspire you. And this book calls us as parents to live great too. Because if we're not going to live authentically and joyfully, why do this Christian parenting thing at all? God's presence brings fullness of joy and pleasures forever more. So let's live like that and our children will want it too. We can still acknowledge hard situations, stop to validate feelings, and have compassion and a right perspective on failure and growth. It's the become in our children, not the outcome that we're going for.
