In time-honored tradition each Fall before Thanksgiving, the president pardons one lucky turkey in all the land, handing him a golden turkey ticket to board the Pardoned Poultry Express.
His destination is Gobbler's Retreat and Petting Zoo, a turkey tom oasis where the pardoned royalty live out their lives in sleepy, pampered peace. But for every other plucky turkey about town, the word 'Thanksgiving' conjures entirely different images - ones that would ruffle the feathers of even the bravest bird.
