I'm a professional baseball player-or I was, until I was forced into early retirement. I'm still getting used to the idea of my team heading to the playoffs without me when I total my Lambo-an accident, I swear-and my agent ships me off to a private lakeside retreat in the wilds of Maine to get my head on straight. No phone. No internet. Just trees, stars, and too much time to think about how baseball's been my whole life since my dad first tossed me a ball.
