Nova Veil

It's been five years since Riley Cross emerged from the Gray World as the legendary "Phoenix Commander." The Skuldrith hive was shattered, Velrax the Ash King banished to the void-or so everyone believed. The bright side of Earth rejoices under a fragile peace, its people eager to forget the horrors beyond the Veil. But evil never dies for good.

Now 17, Riley is celebrated as a war hero but suffocating under a new life that feels empty. The bright world's leaders parade her like a symbol while secretly dismantling Nova Veil, declaring the war "won." But nightmares gnaw at her sleep-visions of Daphne alone in the Gray World, fighting shadows that keep returning. When a failed assassination attempt exposes hidden traitors within the government, Riley realizes the war is far from over.

A forbidden transmission from the other side reveals the truth: Velrax has clawed his way back, reborn through the corrupted remnants of the Mother of Monsters. The Gray World festers with a new breed of Skuldrith-smarter, organized, led by a mysterious figure known only as the Ember Regent.

Defying the bright side's leaders, Riley crosses back through the Veil to reunite with Daphne Thorne, who has become a hardened commander herself-older, sharper, carrying secrets of her own. Together, they discover that the Soul Link they share has evolved, binding them deeper than life or death. But the bond comes at a cost: as Velrax's power grows, the link threatens to consume them both.

As Riley and Daphne gather a ragtag army of outcasts, rogue Soul Linked pairs, and Gray World survivors, they must uncover the Ember Regent's identity before Velrax breaches the bright world for good. Along the way, Riley will face a choice: hold tight to who she was, or embrace the burning truth of who she's become-even if it means sacrificing her humanity to stop a god.
