Do you feel your weight is often on your arms, not your feet? This integrated book and self-administered course will explain why and help you stop pulling so hard.
This book, and the course it contains, aims to give you the tools you need in your movement toolbox to climb typical grades outdoors or indoors, roped or bouldering, sport or trad, with more confidence. If by the end of it you struggle a little less and dance a little more, we will be very happy.
The course is designed to help:
- Newer climbers to get a jump-start.
- More experienced climbers to improve, particularly improve flow.
- You discover any weaknesses in your knowledge or performance.
- Kick you up and off a plateau.
There are four parts:
Terminology - a quick refresher of common and not so common climbing terms relevant to movement.
Fundamentals - a set of techniques for you to get to grips with at the base of the climbing wall or in the boulder room.
Exercises - a set of exercises to complete on top rope, on autobelay or on a bouldering wall that will allow you to embed the techniques found in
Fundamentals. After four laps on the climbing wall, or sixteen on the bouldering wall, you will
score your performance. These scores will be used to generate your Movement Health Profile and future training programme.
Moving Forward - a set of ideas we think worth including in your indoor sessions to provide continuous improvement.
By using text, images, videos, and physical measurements, we hope to help you whatever your learning style.
