Military Operations Egypt & Palestine From June 1917 to the End of the War

"Military Operations Egypt & Palestine From June 1917 to the End of the War Part I" is a comprehensive and authoritative historical account of the British Empire's military campaigns in the Middle East during the latter stages of the Great War. Authored by the esteemed military historian Cyril Falls, this volume provides a meticulous analysis of the strategic and tactical maneuvers that characterized the Palestine Campaign. The narrative centers on the transformative period following the arrival of General Sir Edmund Allenby and the subsequent reorganization of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force.

Through detailed prose, the work examines the complexities of desert warfare, including the logistical hurdles and the coordination of infantry, cavalry, and air support. Key historical milestones such as the Third Battle of Gaza and the capture of Jerusalem are documented with precision, highlighting the tactical shifts that led to the collapse of Ottoman resistance in the region. Based on official records, Falls offers an essential perspective on a theater of war that fundamentally reshaped the geopolitical landscape of the modern Middle East. This work remains a vital resource for readers interested in World War I history, military command, and the study of large-scale offensive operations.
