The purpose of the book is that latino kids feel identified with the characters of the book, develop math skills regarding positional systems and honor their cultural background.
Mayans count was written and illustrated by two bilingual latino educators from Chile and Brazil.
We hope this book helps thousands of kids grow in a bilingual environment at the same time they honor their background.

"In my experience with math education and studying about it, I realized that there are many gaps in learning from early childhood. One of the reason for it is that kids don't feel involved in their learning process. By the age of 5 latino kids are 3 months behind their maths skills learning and the gap could only increase taking the out of chances of succeed.
