Of his impetus in writing he says: When I was quite young my father fell ill and died when I was 8. I think I was 30 when I first cried about not having a father. But the final prompt to write this book came when I realised just how lop-sided is the maturity of many older men. The maturation process is one to be engaged in each life era if one is to live in a rounded and zestful way. And so I write this book for young men and older men who want some pointers about living lives of manly maturity.
