Beyond the reality of this world, in another realm, were two kingdoms. Each kingdom was gifted with something special, one magic, the other knowledge. Ellery Faidman is portaled back into the world of magic and knowledge but has lost her memories... and her magic this time around. She is haunted by memories that seem to be just out of her reach. At first, figuring out her memories consumes her, but as new memories replace the old and new feelings along with them, she loses sight of what she had thought was the most important.

As time goes on, the king, Carwyn, becomes more than the king to Ellery. Westrim becomes more than a place to pass the time but a home. As things change, she and the king start on a new journey. He lets her into his world, and as she tours through new regions and meets new people, everything seems to fall into place, except for the missing pieces of her memory.

Meanwhile, Kellen helps to keep Alexei hidden, together hatching a plan that an internal foe is determined to upend. As Ellery explores a connection with Carwyn and her own magic, Alexei strives to find her once again.
