Living with cerebral palsy has posed many challenges for Albert Elias, but it hasn't brought him down. His story is a celebration of life, of family, and of friendship. From his youthful struggle to pull himself up and walk, through his efforts to find employers who recognize his strengths, Elias has faced every challenge head on, overcoming each with courage and persistence. Elias's story is filled with humor and with tales of the people and places who have filled his life. His journeys take him through continental Europe, to New York City, and into the homes and businesses of Britain. His independence, amazing in the face of the difficulties, is matched only by his positive attitude and his numerous meaningful friendships. A Life with More Ups than Downs is an inspiration to each of us, whether we face a physical disability like cerebral palsy or simply the hurdles of everyday life. His story can be a reminder that any life lived with courage, optimism, and connections to others can be a beautiful life.
